Beaumont, TX; Aug. 10, 2026 – The McFaddin-Ward House Museum will host its annual Teacher Appreciation Happy Hour celebrating area educators on Thursday, August 27, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the Museum’s Visitor Center (1906 Calder Avenue, Beaumont).
“We know August is a busy time for teachers and administrators throughout Southeast Texas, and we want to treat them to a fun evening of food, drinks, and great door prizes to celebrate the hard work they do every day,” said D’Lana Barbay, education manager at the McFaddin-Ward House Museum. “We’re excited to connect with educators and serve as a partner in education with area schools and homeschool groups.”

The free, come-and-go style event is open to all public, private, and homeschool educators. Attendees will enjoy a walk-through tour of the first floor of the historic McFaddin-Ward House, which features a World War I-era installation highlighting the McFaddin household’s contributions to the war effort. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about the McFaddin-Ward House Museum’s free education offerings, including in-person field trips and in-classroom outreach.
