The Visitor Services Assistant is responsible for providing accurate and meaningful tours for participants of all ages.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead engaging, guided tours of the Historic Home, Carriage House, and Gardens for visitors of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
Interpret the history, architecture, collection, and lives of the McFaddin-Ward family through accurate storytelling.
Ensure the safety of visitors and the protection of historic artifacts by enforcing Museum policies and procedures.
Provide exceptional customer service while creating a welcoming and inclusive visitor experience.
Assist with programs and special events, as needed.
Adhere to the McFaddin-Ward House Museum’s Ethics and Human Resources policies.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, navigate multiple flights of stairs, and conduct tours outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Capacity to learn, retain, and accurately present historical information.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable with basic computer operations.
Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Availability to work weekends.
Successful completion of a background check.
