Get Ready for Western Swing with Western Bling at Music at the McFaddins’ on Feb. 23
Beaumont, TX; Feb. 12, 2024 – The McFaddin-Ward House invites the community to “swing and sway” on its beautiful grounds at Music at the McFaddins’ featuring Western Bling, a Houston-based group performing classic western swing music with a contemporary twist, on Friday, Feb. 23, at 6:30 p.m. at 1906 McFaddin Avenue in Beaumont.
The band’s Western Swing music stays true to tunes popularized by artists such as Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, along with traditional country and jazz standards. Based in Houston, Western Bling’s lively music includes fiddle guitar, and pedal instrumentals, as well as tunes with both male and female lead vocals. Returning to the McFaddin-Ward House again this year for an encore performance, the group has been playing bars, restaurants, honky-tonks, and private events since 2016.
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, and snacks as they gather on the historic home’s lawn for an evening of great tunes, dancing, and community fellowship. Gates open at 6 p.m. The event is admission-free and open to the public.
In case of inclement weather, Music at the McFaddins’ will be cancelled.
Upcoming events at the museum also include the second annual SOAR Family Day on Sunday, Mar. 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and SOAR Texas Trivia Night with The Know Show Trivia on Thursday, Mar. 14 at 6:30 p.m. All SOAR events are admission-free and open to the public.
Built in 1905-1906 in the distinctive Beaux-Arts Colonial style, the McFaddin-Ward House reflects the lifestyle of the prominent family which lived in the house for 75 years. The museum features free tours, educational programming, year-round events, a carriage house, and gardens.
