Mamie’s Birthday Celebrations

To celebrate her 119th birthday, the McFaddin-Ward House will hold a series of events to recognize the woman who started it all, Mamie McFaddin-Ward.

Tours of the museum will be free from November 4th through November 8th. Tours are available at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. Tour reservations are required. Details may be obtained by calling the visitor center at (409) 832-2134.

But on her 119th birthday, November 5th, the museum will hold a reception and tea at the Visitor Center from 10 a.m. to noon.

Refreshments will be provided, as well as first floor tours of the house. Those interested in becoming docents at the museum are encouraged to attend, to learn more about becoming a volunteer docent.
