Lecture – Joe Holley: Intriguing Texans Who Have Slipped Out of the History Books (Or Were Never There!)

Lecture Description: Joe Holley will delve into the stories of interesting Texans not well-known.

Speaker Bio: Native Texan, Joe Holley, is a former editorial page editor and columnist for newspapers in San Antonio and San Diego, as well as a staff writer for the Washington Post. A regular contributor to Texas Monthly Magazine, Holley joined the Houston Chronicle in 2009 writing the Native Texan column.  An award-winning author of several books including Hometown Texas, Hurricane Season: The Unforgettable Story of the Houston Astros and the Resilience of a City, and Slingin’ Sam: The Life and Times of the Greatest Quarterback Ever to Play the Game, Holley was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2017.
