Mamie McFaddin Ward created the Mamie McFaddin Ward Heritage Foundation in 1978 with the primary purpose of restoring and supporting the McFaddin-Ward House Museum. The museum opened to the public on March 17, 1986, bringing Mamie’s vision to life.
The home, carriage house, and gardens provide an oasis to those seeking beautiful architecture, exemplary taste, and local history. In addition, the McFaddin-Ward House preserves and interprets the history of the home, the family, and Southeast Texas.
Furthermore, the Mamie McFaddin Ward Heritage Foundation makes discretionary grants to local charities through an annual application process. The Co-Trustees of the McFaddin Ward Foundation and the Committee named in the Declaration of Trust give due consideration of grant applications.
