Beaumont, TX; March 21, 2023 – The McFaddin-Ward House invites the community to enjoy live entertainment on its beautiful grounds at Music at the McFaddin’s featuring Beaumont’s own “Night & Day Orchestra”, a traditional big band performing classic swing music, on Thursday, March 30, at 6:30 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, and snacks as they gather on the historic home’s lawn at 1906 McFaddin Avenue for an evening of great tunes, dancing, and community fellowship. Gates open at 6 p.m. The event is admission free and open to the public.
“For the first time, our popular Music at the McFaddin’s will include a dance floor on the lawn and who better provide the music for a swinging good time than the talented ‘Night & Day Orchestra’,” said Tony Chauveaux, McFaddin-Ward House executive director. “Our family-friendly music events not only allow the community to relax on our beautiful grounds, but also inspire an appreciation for a variety of musical styles.”
In case of inclement weather, Music at the McFaddin’s will be cancelled.
Upcoming events at the museum also include: Music at the McFaddin’s featuring “Western Bling”, Houston-based group performing classic western swing music with a contemporary twist on Thursday, April 13, at 6:30 p.m.; a family Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and the continuing lecture series with “Monuments: Creation of our National Symbols”, a presentation by Ivan Schwartz (sculptor, painter, inventor, and founder of New York-based StudioEIS), on Thursday, April 20, at 6:30 p.m.
Built in 1905-1906 in the distinctive Beaux-Arts Colonial style, the McFaddin-Ward House reflects the lifestyle of the prominent family which lived in the house for 75 years. The museum features free tours, educational programing, year-round events, a carriage house, and gardens.
