Beaumont, TX; Feb. 22, 2023 – During the fourth week of the McFaddin-Ward House electrical upgrade, work wrapped up on the third floor and moved on to the second.
Over the course of the week, Oak Grove Restoration Co. removed all second floor light fixtures starting with easier to access wall sconces and moving on to the ceiling fans and chandeliers. Smaller light fixtures and pieces such as fan blades were labeled, carefully wrapped, and boxed to await shipment. Oak Grove utilized the previously constructed wooden support cradle to safely suspend the second floor’s two chandeliers and three ceiling fans, as well as several of the more delicate wall sconces.
After mounting the electrical panel on the second floor, electricians with Newtron Electrical Services began wiring light fixtures in the North Bedroom. Removal of portions of flooring in the third floor Mechanical Room was needed as a precautionary measure to provide better visibility for more precise drilling as the electricians work to create spaces for cables. Fortunately, the skilled electricians have successfully found innovative ways to run wiring to various locations with minimal intrusion to the home. By the end of the week, wiring in the North Bedroom was complete.
Previously, only two electrical outlets were available on the entire third floor, so electricians have added additional electrical outlets in the third floor Mechanical Room.
