Beaumont, TX; March 22, 2023 – Week eight of the McFaddin-Ward House’s electrical upgrade was highlighted by the arrival and work of award-winning custom lighting and historic restoration lighting manufacturer, Crenshaw Lighting, headquartered in Floyd, Virginia.
After completing further protection of the house’s most delicate fixtures (including the bronze maiden-topped light which rests atop the Breakfast Room’s alabaster fountain) and careful packing of the numerous individual chandelier crystals, Crenshaw coordinated with Oak Grove Restoration Company to load all 98 heirloom light fixtures for transport. By Wednesday, everything was securely packed and on the road to Virginia, where the rewiring and refurbishment work will take place.
Oak Grove also began to identify table lamps, floor lamps, and closet fixtures in need of rewiring during the project and continued work to create pathways for electricians to access difficult areas.
By week’s end, electricians from Newtron Electrical Services finished running wire to all locations on the second floor and began reviewing plans to determine the best method for navigating the first floor.
