After graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in Anthropology and minor in Museum Studies, Ashley returned to her native Southeast Texas to serve as the museum’s summer intern. She has since transitioned to Curator of Collections and works to protect and interpret the artifacts of the McFaddin and Ward families. Ashley uses her background in archaeology and photography to approach the collection in a detailed and respectful manner. She worked at the George Bush Presidential Library & Museum in College Station and the Battleship Texas in La Porte, where she gained an appreciation for Texas history and the skills to preserve it.
Ashley enjoys serving the community through the McFaddin-Ward House, and she loves sharing the museum’s story. She describes history as personal, as it evokes empathy, change, and courage for the future.
