SUMMARY:Music at the McFaddins’ featuring Jivin’ Gene & Eazy
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Friday\, Nov. 8 for a night of great tunes during Music at the McFaddins’ featuring legendary Swamp Pop musician Jivin’ Gene Bourgeois and Eazy. Gates open at 6 p.m. with music beginning at 6:30 p.m. on the McFaddin-Ward House lawn (1906 McFaddin Ave.\, Beaumont). \nAs a teenager growing up in Port Arthur in the 1950s\, Jivin’ Gene broke onto the national charts with his heartfelt ballads about love. His unique style of sound helped create a new genre of music called “swamp pop\,” songs cooked up from a gumbo-like mix of influences: country music\, rhythm and blues\, Cajun ballads and rock ‘n’ roll. The talented singer\, songwriter and guitarist continues to share his unique sound at venues throughout Southeast Texas. He is well-known for writing the hit song\, “Breaking Up is Hard to Do.” \nThe event is admission-free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets\, chairs\, food\, and drinks as they gather on the historic home’s grounds to enjoy a great evening of live entertainment. \nIn case of inclement weather\, Music at the McFaddins’ will be cancelled. \nFor more information\, call 409.832.2134.

DESCRIPTION:Join Us for the Annual McFaddin-Ward House Holiday Photo Shoot on Sunday\, November 10th from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. This fun opportunity is admission-free! \nUpon your arrival at the museum\, please register at the Visitor Center to secure your photo session. Photos will be taken in the McFaddin-Ward House Entrance Hall with the gorgeous grand staircase in the background and festive décor for a one-of-a-kind holiday memory. \nNo reservations are necessary.  Photos will be taken on a first come\, first served basis. \nA staff photographer will take up to three photos of each group/individual using the guest’s personal device (digital camera or cell phone).
