DESCRIPTION:The McFaddin-Ward House invites the community to delight in the splendor\, sounds\, and spirit of the season at its annual admission-free Holiday Open House Weekend on Saturday\, Dec. 5\, and Sunday\, Dec. 6\, from 5-7 p.m. \nGuests will enjoy festive refreshments\, live music\, carolers\, and Santa’s Craft Workshop with children’s activities at the museum’s Visitor Center (1906 Calder Avenue in Beaumont) before making their way across the street to see the historic house shining with holiday cheer and twinkling lights. \nInside the home\, visitors will tour a visual wonderland of magnificent holiday decorations throughout the first floor\, while traditional Christmas music plays on the Music Room’s grand piano. This year’s holiday interpretation will allow guests to experience a McFaddin family open house party. Gorgeous gold\, shining silver\, and sparkling crystal light up the dining areas\, while glamorous party clothes and other special items\, like a vintage toy train\, will be on display. Before departing\, guests will have the opportunity to take photos with Santa on the front porch to complete the magic memories of the evening. \nThe event is admission-free and open to the public. SUMMARY:Homeschool Workshop – Christmas Past
DESCRIPTION:The McFaddin-Ward House Education Department will offer “Christmas Past\,” a free Homeschool Workshop for ages 8 – 12\, on Tuesday\, December 15\, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Museum’s Visitor Center Lecture Hall (1906 Calder Avenue\, Beaumont). \nThe holiday has seen many changes through the decades. Students will take a look back at what Christmas was like from 1900 – 1950. Participants will also enjoy a walk-through tour of the first floor of the historic home magnificently decorated for the holiday season. \nRegistration is not required\, but seating is limited. \n**Please note: This is not a drop off event. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

DESCRIPTION:The McFaddin-Ward House Museum invites the community to its fifth annual SOAR Family Day on Sunday\, March 7\, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Museum’s grounds (1906 McFaddin Ave.\, Beaumont). \nThe admission-free\, family-friendly event will feature a full afternoon of butterfly-related activities\, including garden and butterfly related crafts\, local artist Butterfly Art Garden display\, butterfly ride-on bikes\, butterfly performance artists\, and booths from community partners and exhibitors.
