Eggnog Open House

The McFaddin-Ward House invites you to its festive Eggnog Open House. See our lovely home as we decorate holiday style, much like the family who lived here did. Themed china and silver set the tables, red bows adorn the grand staircase, hundreds of poinsettias accent the rooms. We are serving eggnog and refreshments in the Visitor Center. Holiday choirs and musicians will entertain the public. See the first floor of the McFaddin-Ward House like you've never seen it before.

Hair History Lecture and Exhibit Long, short, braided, curled, or straightened; hairstyles make history. They can act as forms of social communication and offer insight into our private and public personas. The well-groomed McFaddin women went to great lengths to enhance their appearances, especially when it came to their hair. Museum intern Jennifer Kellum presents this exhibit and lecture which explores how women’s hair care, hairstyles, and hair adornments serve as reflections of people, places, and time.
