It's our annual Spring Picnic at the McFaddin-Ward House! Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, drinks and food. We'll provide the beautiful backdrop of our southern family home and gardens....plus a live band, food truck, face painting, arts, crafts, and fun. Children are so welcome, but unless it's a service animal, please leave the pets (and cigarettes) at at the front gate. See you there!

Hair History Lecture and Exhibit Long, short, braided, curled, or straightened; hairstyles make history. They can act as forms of social communication and offer insight into our private and public personas. The well-groomed McFaddin women went to great lengths to enhance their appearances, especially when it came to their hair. Museum intern Jennifer Kellum presents this exhibit and lecture which explores how women’s hair care, hairstyles, and hair adornments serve as reflections of people, places, and time.
