Lecture – Ken Farmer: What Do I Do With That? Conserving Your Treasures and What Not to Do.

Join the McFaddin-Ward House (MWH) for “What Do I Do With That? Conserving Your Treasures and What Not to Do” a lecture by Ken Farmer.
The lecture will be held Thursday, May 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the MWH Visitor Center Lecture Hall, located at 1906 Calder Avenue, in Beaumont.
A free conservation and valuation clinic will be held at the Visitor Center on Friday, May 13 at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., and 11 a.m. by appointment only. Appointments are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Items are limited to one per appointment with two appointments available per person/couple.
Ken Farmer will share stories from his time with the Antiques Roadshow and explain how to best care for and conserve your collectables.
A lifelong resident of Virginia, Farmer has been an avid student and collector of Americana and Southern material culture since 1974. Farmer operated two auction houses until 2015, and is an established advisor, appraiser, and auctioneer in all categories of fine and decorative art.
He has appeared on the PBS series Antiques Roadshow since its inception in 1996 as a specialist in folk art, furniture, decorative arts and musical instruments.
Additionally, Farmer is a musician and singer of traditional Appalachian and American roots music.
McFaddin-Ward House lectures are free and open to the public, but space is limited. Doors open at 6 p.m.
