Lecture – Harry Rinker: Life is a Treasure Hunt – How to Find, Evaluate & Manage Items in your Collection

Join the McFaddin-Ward House (MWH) for “Life is a Treasure Hunt – How to Find, Evaluate & Manage Items in Your Collection,” a lecture by Harry Rinker.
The lecture will be held Thursday, March 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the MWH Visitor Center Lecture Hall, located at 1906 Calder Avenue, in Beaumont.
An appraisal clinic will be held at the Visitor Center on Friday, March 11 at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., and 11 a.m. by appointment only.
Participants must have a ticket for each item to be appraised with a limit of two tickets per person/couple.
Harry L. Rinker is the owner of Harry L. Rinker LLC, which provides appraisal, consulting, editorial and educational services in the antiques and collectibles field. His research articles and special feature columns have appeared in AntiqueWeek, Collectors News, The Magazine Antiques, and numerous other periodicals and newspapers.
Rinker hosted Collector Inspector on HGTV and appeared in several other HGTV specials. His television credits include Oprah, Home Matters, Martha Stewart Living, Inside Edition, Wall Street Journal Report, NBC’s Today Show, and Good Morning America.
A prolific antiques and collectibles writer, Rinker’s books include The Joy of Collecting (for the Smithsonian) and Sell, Keep or Toss: How to Downsize a Home, Settle An Estate, and Appraise Personal Property. He is the host of Whatcha Got?, a nationally syndicated antiques and collectibles radio show.
McFaddin-Ward House lectures are free and open to the public, but space is limited. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Appraisal Clinic Details:

  • Participants must make a reservation for one of three clinics.

Call 409-832-2134 for reservations. Clinic Times: 9:00-10:00, 10:00-11:00, 11:00-12:00.

  • Participants must have one ticket for each item to be appraised.
  • Limit of 2 tickets per person/couple.
  • All items must be hand carried – no dollies or carts please.
  • Ticket must be presented for entry.
  • Appraisal sessions will be live streamed on Facebook.
  • No charge for tickets.
